As you may know, since last year I am the owner of an ice machine. Last year I didn’t use the ice machine so much, but this year I changed this. I'm not the big ice cream eater now, but I like to try new tastes. To be honest I like more refined tastes, such as this sugar melon buttermilk ice cream.
This is how we proceed:
You need:
½
sugar melon
80
g sugar
2
egg yolks
125
ml buttermilk (with lemon flavor)
60
ml cream
Portions:
4
Preparation
time: 25 minutes
Freezing
time: 45-60 minutes
This is how we proceed:
- Remove the seeds and spoon out the pulp. Puree the melon pulp. Give melon and 40 g of sugar in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat.
- Beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar for 5 minutes until you get a light yellow mass.
- Add the melon and mix. Put the mixture back into the pot and boil for 2-3 more minutes at low temperature.
- Remove from heat and add the buttermilk (I took one with lemon flavor) and the cream.
- Put the ice in the bowl of the ice machine and place in the refrigerator.
- After the mass has cooled process to ice. Depending on the ice machine, it can take between 45 and 60 minutes.
Place in cups and serve.
I do not know whether this ice cream can be prepared without an ice machine. I Think you can give the mass in the freezer. You just have to try it.
