Polenta with cheese and sour cream

Polenta with cheese and sour cream

On the 1st of December it was not only the 1st Advent but also the Romanian national holiday. Since I come from Romania, this day had to be celebrated. Something that reminds us of home had to be cooked. It had to be a dish that is very easy and quick to cook and that tastes delicious. I did not want to leave alone my guest for long and I wanted to prepare the dish fresh and not a few hours earlier. And I did not want to spend all day in the kitchen. So the choice felt on polenta with cheese and sour cream.

I know that many say that polenta taste bland, but in combination with cheese and sour cream is not the case anymore. But it is best if you make a picture for yourself.

For 4 servings you need:

1 cup (250 g) corn meal
2 cups (500 ml) water
1 cup (250 g) sour cream
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
feta cheese

This is how we proceed:

Add water and salt in a pan and bring to a boil. Pour cornmeal slowly into water, stirring with a whisk. Continue stirring as mixture thickens, 2-3 minutes over medium heat. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in butter.

Arrange on plates and serve with cheese and sour cream.
