Milk slices

Milk slices

Hi. This time I will show you how you can make delicious milk slices. I love the milk slices and wanted to make them by my own. So I searched for a recipe and found it on a Romanian blog a few years ago. I find that the taste of the homemade milk slices comes very close to the original one. If you are also a fan of milk slice, then you have to try this recipe!

You need:

For the batter:
For the crème:
4 eggs
170 g condensed milk
80 g sugar
200 ml whipping cream
2 tsp vanilla sugar
100 ml milk
2 tbsp flour
6 g gelatin
1 tsp baking powder
50 g honey
2 tbsp cacao
1 tbsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp semolina

20 ml milk

100 ml oil

2 tbsp honey

1 pinch salt

This is how you proceed:

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C degrees.
  2. For the batter separate eggs.
  3. Mix egg yolks together with the sugar and the vanilla sugar until the mixture is significantly brighter and airier.
  4. Mix flour with baking powder, cocoa and semolina. Add to the egg-sugar mixture and mix.
  5. Add milk and mix. Add the oil, then the honey. Mix again.
  6. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff, add to the batter and gently fold in.

Divide the batter in 2 and spread on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Bake for 13-15 minutes. Let it cool completely. When the sponge is completely cooled, remove baking paper. (If the parchment paper is difficult to solve, moisten hands with a little water and sweep over the paper, it dissolves easier)

  1. For the cream mix the condensed milk together with 50 ml milk.
  2. Dissolve gelatine in 50 ml milk and then heat over water bath. Pour over the condensed milk. Then add the honey and vanilla extract.
  3. Beat cream until stiff, add condensed milk and fold in.

Place in the refrigerator.

When the cream starts to harden, spread it on the biscuit base. Place the 2nd base gently on it. Give for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.

Cut in small rectangle and serve.
