2 weeks ago, during the Eurovision Song Contest weekend I baked these cheese sticks. But not for the Song Contest, no, I've watched it together with friends in a nice little bar. The cheese sticks were baked on Sunday. I have obtained from the used ingredient amount 3 baking trays and 2 were eaten on the same day (do not worry I was not alone). So I have the confirmation that they taste very good. I will bake the cheese sticks often...they are ideal for a movie night or as a snack.
You need:
150
g cold butter
200
g sheep cheese
150
g feta cheese
500
g wheat flour
2
eggs
100
g sour cream
1
tsp salt
+
1 egg, whisked
sea
salt, sesame, caraway seeds
How we proceed:
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Grate the cheese and butter, add in a bowl together with the flour, eggs, sour cream and the salt and knead into a smooth and compact dough.
Form dough into a ball, split in 2 pieces and roll out each piece about 5 mm thick on a floured surface or a silicone mat.
Now cut 1 cm wide cheese sticks with a waved pizza wheel.
Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Spread with the whisked egg and sprinkle with sea salt, caraway or sesame seeds.
