The last post was about the basic recipe for kanellbullar dough - the dough I use whenever I bake kanellbullars. Now it is time for a recipe for walnut bun.
You need:
50 g melted butter
ground walnuts
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp water
1 egg
This is how we proceed:
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a rectangle. Brush the dough with the melted butter. Mix grounded walnuts, sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the butter. Roll the dough the long way and cut into 2-3 cm thick slices.
Align on a baking tray lined with baking paper and let rise under a towel for 60 minutes.
Preheat oven to 220°C.
Beat together the egg and water, brush the mixture carefully on the buns and sprinkle some nut-sugar mixture on top.
Bake rolls for 5-6. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
