I can’t believe it! I finally managed to bake donuts. You cannot imagine since when I want to bake some. Is it 2 years? Yes, I think so. I even bought a small baking book with donuts recipes. Every time I see on another blog a donuts recipe I say I will bake some in the weekend. But always something else comes in between. Either I bake something else or I do not feel like baking. Or I'm not at home at all. And so time passes. But 2 weeks ago this changed. I wanted to bake something sweet. As I wanted an easy and fast recipe I decided to bake donuts.
I then took the cooking book out and read the recipe for simple sponge donuts. I had all the ingredients at hope so I started baking. I was somehow skeptical when I read 3 tbsp of baking soda, but I didn’t change the amount. Well...the first donuts looked like muffins...they raised too much. Fortunately, there I still had dough, so I started trial number 2 - this time I filled the molds only to 1/3 with dough and not to 2/3 as it was written in the instructions. And it worked... he donuts looked like donuts. The donuts taste delicious, so I share the recipe with you today. Since I do not know how the dough behaves with less baking powder, I will give here the information the way I used them.
You need:
225
g wheat flour
3
tsp of baking soda
175
g of sugar
½
tsp salt
150
ml milk
2
eggs, whisked
1
teaspoon vanilla extract
40
g butter, melted
2
tbsp sugar
1-2
tsp cinnamon
Preparation
time: 30 minutes
Baking
time: 15 minutes
You
get: 24 donuts
This is how we proceed:
Preheat oven at 190°C. Grease the donut mold.
Add flour and baking powder to a mixing bowl. Add salt and sugar and mix. Make a hollow in the center. Pour milk, eggs, butter and vanilla into the hollow. Process to a smooth dough.
Fill the dough into an icing bag with round tip. Fill the mold with 1/3 dough (no more, otherwise you have muffins and not donuts).
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until the donuts are golden brown. Leave to cool for 5 minutes and place on a kitchen grate. Bake the remaining dough in the same way.
