My
dears, the summer has finally arrived and so now we can spend the one or the
other evening with good friends and a good cocktail on the balcony or in the
garden. For this reason, I will show you in the next weeks a few summer drinks.
The beginning makes a rhubarb gin cocktail. But you must hurry ... the rhubarb
season is almost over.
For 2 drinks you need:
4
ounces (120 ml) gin
4,5
ounce (135 ml) rhubarb syrup (scroll down for recipe)
¼
cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice
6
ounces (180 ml) Prosecco
This is how you
proceed:
Like
every drink, also this is easy to prepare. You have only to put all the
ingredients in a pitcher and to stir them. Pour in glasses and serve with ice
and lemon slices.
And
because I am so nice, I also show to you how to make the rhubarb syrup.
You need:
1
cup (250 ml) water
1
cup (200 g) sugar
1
¼ cups (200 g) fresh rhubarb
1
vanilla bean, split and seeded
This is how you
proceed:
Wash,
clean and cut rhubarb into small pieces.
Add
all the ingredients in a pot and bring to boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes
over medium heat.
Remove
from the stove, remove the vanilla bean and let it cool a bit, pass through a
sieve or cloth, squeeze the juice and collect it.
Pour into a container and store for 1 week in the refrigerator. Only afterwards you can mix the cocktail.
