Here I've told you that I’ve decided to try the quinoa salad recipe, after I saw a photo on the Internet. So I bought quinoa, cooked the salad and I liked it. As I havn't used the whole quinoa, I searched for other recipes and came across a quinoa chocolate cake recipe. The curiosity was big as I couldn’t imagine how this cake would taste, and after I've made a few changes to the original recipe, I baked the cake.
You need:
150
g quinoa
375
ml water
3
eggs
140
g butter
140
g sugar
1
tbsp vanilla extract
1
tbsp coffee powder
66
tbsp cacao
50
g chopped chocolate
7
g baking powder
½
tbsp baking soda
+blueberry
for garnishing
Rinse quinoa with hot water. Bring water to boil and add the quinoa. Cook over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes until the water is gone. Let it cool to room temperature. After the quinoa cooled town add baking powder and baking soda and mix well.
Place butter, sugar and vanilla extract in a bowl mix. Add an egg after another to other and continue mixing. Add coffee, cocoa and chocolate and mix well.
Pour batter into a form lined with baking paper (mine had a diameter of 18 cm) and bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30-35minutes.
The consistency is interesting, you can feel the quinoa seeds in the cake, but that did not bother anyone, as the cake tastes very, very good. If I made you curious, then try the recipe out!
