Buttermilk waffles

Does it sound familiar to you? You really want a new kitchen device/ gadget/ shoes/ clothes etc. and after you have it, it is not so often used? That's currently the situation with my waffle iron. I bought it about 2 year ago, but I used it only 2 times so far. That had to change, so today I baked buttermilk waffles. The result is delicious...that’s why I hope I'm going to make them often from now.

You need:

125 g soft butter
75 g sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
4 eggs
250 g flour
¼ tsp baking powder
125 g buttermilk

+ oil
icing sugar

    Ingredients buttermilk waffles

    Servings: 8 waffels
    Preparation time: 40 minutes

    This is how we proceed:

Give the butter, sugar, salt and vanilla sugar in a bowl and stir until foamy. Stir in eggs one by one. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in alternately with the buttermilk.

Preheat waffle iron and grease with some oil. Give about 2 tablespoons batter onto the center of the baking surface, close the waffle iron and bake the waffles until golden. Place on a plate and do the same with the remaining batter.

    Making buttermilk waffles
Dust the warm waffles with icing sugar. You can serve the waffles with a fruit salad. They are best served as breakfast in bed.

Do you also have kitchen devices, which you wanted so badly to have but then are not used so often? Or am I only just like that?
