Lately, I'm quite unorganized about the blog. Not that I am an organized person or that I have a plan which I follow. No not that. But I have always prepare 2-3 posts prepared, so I don’t have time problems. But since my holiday this changed. Either the time is missing or I am not in the mood to work on new posts. And so it happens that the days pass and I have not prepared anything new for the blog. My last posts were spontaneous – I knew I “have to” publish something new…than I asked myself: what recipe should I publish next? Luckily, I still have some recipes that I have not yet blogged...but this will change in the near future... can you imagine that I haven’t been cooking for almost two months? Yes, a few things I cooked, these were also blogged. But I haven’t baked a cake or cook a main dish in a while. I must change this too. Today I knew it was time for a new post - but what? Then I noticed that I haven’t posted a dessert for a long time. So I looked into my dessert folders and I knew what to blog next. This pavlova with nectarines and kiwis waits now for 3 years to make it on the blog. Here is the recipe.
Orange-carrot banana smoothie
Tuesday, February 21, 2017
I started to drink smoothies again. Now in the cold season we should strengthen our immune system. I do not take vitamins, but I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. And I drink smoothies. I take everything the refrigerator has to give and experiment cheerfully. Sometimes these experiments succeed, sometimes not. The orange carrot banana smoothie was a successful experiment and I want to share the recipe with you. Maybe you want to try it out.
Vegan lentil bolognese
Sunday, February 12, 2017
Can you remember the recipe for the lentil soup? After I cooked it I still had some carrots, tomatoes and of course lentils. Since I hate to throw away food I had to prepare something delicious with these ingredients. I had seen on various blogs recipes for lentil bolognese. So I read the different recipes and then I start cooking. I haven’t used red wine or vegetable stock. I was out of fresh basil so I used dry one and fresh thyme (it survived the winter on the balcony) for garnishing. And I had no celery either. So I just took what was in the refrigerator and storage cabinet and created my own lentils bolognese. The vegan lentil bolognese looks just like the classic bolognese and I find it tastes the same.
Cauliflower-romanesco soup
Monday, February 6, 2017
99% of the time I cook after recipes. Of course I always change something. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Developing recipes is not my strength. Respectively I'm too lazy to do that. But this has changed with this soup. I was in the supermarket to buy broccoli...I wanted to cook a broccoli soup. But then I saw a bowl with cauliflower and romanesco. Without thinking, I bought them. Not because I like cauliflower so good, no, it was rather because of the romanesco. I have never eaten it before, but I found it is a super food model. Sounds a bit crazy, I know. Now that I had bought and photographed it I had to cook it. So I decided to cook a soup. I did not have any recipe so I used what I had home. The soup tastes delicious, so the recipe made it on the blog.
Warm quinoa with berries
Thursday, February 2, 2017
Sunday, 11am. In 45 minutes I have to be at the gym. And I woke up too late. I need also to eat something for breakfast. And then I realize that the rest of the bread I have is hard as a rock. What should I do? That it strikes me: why not use the remaining quinoa and the almond milk I have? I quickly prepare everything. The whole must boil for 20 minutes. In the meantime, shower, brush the teeth and dress. Quickly take a few photos, quickly eat up and sprint to the gym to arrive on time. Good that this is within 5 minutes by metro. As you can see, it was not planned to cook this recipe. But it emerge from the need and it tastes so good that I had to share it with you. The recipe reminds strongly of the quinoa pudding.
