I wanted to make crème brûlée since an eternity. About 2 years ago I have even purchased a crème brûlée set purchased with bowls and a burner. It took 1 year to fill the burner with gas. And another 6 months until I finally tried out the set. There are now so many variations crème brûlée. Initially I wanted to make the classic crème brûlée, but then I've changed my mind and made this delicious eggnog crème brûlée. I had to do something with the homemade eggnog. So, if you still have eggnog, then you can try the recipe.
You need:
200
g whipped cream
75
ml milk
1
vanilla bean
3
egg yolks
50
g sugar
100
ml eggnog
sugar
for the crust
Preparation
time: 30 Minutes
Backzeit:
50 minutes
Servings:
4-6
This is how we proceed:
First of all the preheat oven to 150°C.
Give cream and milk in a saucepan. Halve the vanilla pod lengthwise, scrape out the beans with a knife and give together with the bean in the pot. Heat cream-milk mixture with stirring over low heat (do not boil!). Remove vanilla.
Give yolks and sugar in a bowl and beat until creamy. Then stir into the cream-milk mixture. While stirring add the eggnog and keep on low heat for another 1-2 minutes. Stir constantly.
Place the forms in a baking dish. Pour cream into the forms. Place the baking dish on the middle shelf of the preheated oven. Pour hot water until the forms are at about 2/3 in water. Bake for 50 minutes
Remove forms from the hot water and allow cooling. Then give for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator. Before serving sprinkle each form with a tbsp sugar and caramelize with a gas burner.
Wish you all Happy Easter!
