Hello! Red Velvet cupcakes are a dessert for special occasions. And since Valentine's Day is in a few days, and though I do not celebrate this day, I believe that with these cupcakes you can surprise your loved ones.



Red velvet cupcakes



We need:


Batter


150 g flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp cacao powder
120 g soft butter
150 g sugar
1 egg
125 ml buttermilk
1 tbsp vanilla-extract
red food coloring


Frosting:


150 g cream cheese
50 g of sugar powder

How do we proceed:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a muffin pan with cupcake papers.
  2. In a bowl, sift the flour, baking soda and cocoa powder.
  3. Beat the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until you have a light, creamy mixture.
  4. Add the egg and beat until incorporated.
  5. Then add half of the flour mixture. 
  6. Add the buttermilk, vanilla flavor and food coloring. 
  7. At the end fold in the remaining flour.

Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.

Bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely before frosting




For the frosting beat the cream cheese with the butter until smooth. Decorate the cupcakes with the frosting.
