Today is World Bread Day! This event exists since 2006 and every year bloggers from all over the world bake bread for this day. And this year I baked also a bread – one that is really easy to bake and for which no kneading is needed. If you want to try my bread with dried tomatoes, here is the recipe.
Ingredients:
500
g flour
370
ml warm water
4
g dried yeast
1
tsp sugar
1
teaspoon salt
100
g dried tomatoes
Preparation:
Put flour in a bowl. Mix the yeast with 1 tsp sugar and then add the warm water and mix. Pour the water-yeast-sugar mix over the flour and knead until you get a sticky dough.
Put flour in a bowl. Mix the yeast with 1 tsp sugar and then add the warm water and mix. Pour the water-yeast-sugar mix over the flour and knead until you get a sticky dough.
Cut the dried tomatoes in thin slices and add to the dough. Mix with a wooden spoon until the tomatoes are embedded in the dough.
Cover the bowl and leave the dough rest in a warm place for 2 hours.
20 minutes before the bread is to be baked, we put in the oven a pot covered with baking paper (the pot should be made of stainless steel and do not have handles made of plastic). Cover the pot with a lid and heat the oven to 220°C.
Put the dough floured work surface and give it a round form (the dough is soft, but it is also elastic).
When the oven temperature reaches 220°C, carefully take the pot from the oven, remove the lid, put the bread in it, cover it with the lid and put it back into the oven. Then bake for 40 minutes at. After the 40 minutes remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes.
And what have you baked for the World Bread Day?
