The
last time I showed you that you can use pumpkin not only for soups or salads,
but also for cookies. And today I show
you how you can do homemade spice syrup and pumpkin spice latte. It's really
easy and it is a lot better than the bought stuff. You don’t believe me? Then you
have to try it out, so here is the recipe.
For the pumpkin spice
syrup you need:
300
ml water
300
g sugar (brown and granulated one)
100
g pumpkin puree
1
tsp gingerbread spices
½
tsp cinnamon
¼
tsp nutmeg
¼
tsp ginger
This is how we proceed:
For
the pumpkin puree cut 150 g pumpkin flesh into cubes, spread on a baking tin
lined with baking paper and bake at 180°C degrees for 50 minutes. Cool slightly
and puree.
Whisk in the spices and the pumpkin puree. Simmer (but do not allow the mixture to come to a boil!) for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Strain through a very fine mesh strainer (or trough cheese cloth). Fill syrup in clean bottles and allow cooling at room temperatures. Keep it in the fridge.
And for the pumpkin
spice latte you need:
1
cup milk
1
cup coffee
3-4
tbsp pumpkin spice syrup
And this is what you
need to do:
Mix
all ingredients well, pour into cups and garnish with whipped cream and
cinnamon. Then make yourself comfortable and just enjoy your homemade pumpkin
spice latte.
