If you are looking for a last-minute Christmas recipe, then you are here just right. Many of us start early baking Christmas cookies. But just as many have no time and no desire to bake from the 1st of December (or even earlier). We always say we have enough time. But then we realized that in 2-3 days it’s Christmas and we haven’t baked anything. But do not panic, I have the solution for you. These Christmas trees are delicious and look also wonderful. And they are also fast to make.

You need:

1 pack finished shortcrust pastry
125 g powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp of water
sprinkles

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 10-12 minutes

This is how we proceed:

Anyone who reads my blog for a longer time will know that I have a problem with shortcrust pastry. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. So that I am not always annoying if it does not work, I often used the bought one. Sometimes you have to admit that you cannot do everything

Preheat oven to 170 degrees.

Combine icing sugar and water to make a thick paste. If the paste is too thick, add some more water. If the paste is too thin, add more powdered sugar. Let it rest for 30 minutes to thicken

Roll out the pastry and cut out stars with 3 different sized cookie cutters. Place these on a baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Now we put our tree together. We always start with the biggest biscuit. Brush cookie with the sugar paste and place the next cookie on top. Continue until a you get a Christmas tree. For one tree I used 9 cookies, but you can use more.

Decorate with sprinkles (sugar-water mixture needs to be wet). Leave to rest for 1 hour to allow the sugar to dry.

If desired, sprinkle with dust sugar.
