Today I remembered why I prefer cooking blogs over cook books or cooking magazines. What happened? I'll tell you. I found a recipe in a magazine and wanted to bake it. I checked if I have all the ingredients and went to work. In the middle of the process I noticed that one of the ingredients was not mentioned during the description of the preparation steps. But this could not be. Well, I'm no longer a beginner, and I know where I need to use (flour in this case) this ingredient. But the magazine praises the fact that this recipe is ideal for beginners. So if I were a beginner, I would not have known where I have to use the flour...or I would have certainly left it out...and that's annoying. Then I discovered a second error...the baking temperature was not specified. Oh great! I'm not saying that the food bloggers don’t make such mistakes. But you can write a comment and inform the blogger.

Porridge with fruits
Saturday, September 20, 2014
I must confess...regarding porridge I was pretty skeptical. For a long time I saw on other blogs porridge recipes ... but somehow the dish didn’t look so appealing to me. I told myself, I will try it sometimes, but it was never on my "this-I-must-try-list". So what has changed in the meantime? I visited my friend in London, and she asked me if I wanted to have porridge for breakfast. And I thought ... why not ... now I have the opportunity to try it. And what do you know...topped with some honey/ sugar and fruit it tastes quite well.
Red pepper cream soup
Tuesday, September 16, 2014
Unfortunately, the weather was not very nice this weekend: it was very gray and it also rained. The weather made me change my weekend plans as I was not able to spend the day out. So I read much but I also cooked a lot. I wanted to try out a few recipes and now I finally had the tie to do so. For example I wanted to cook this red pepper cream soup since spring, but I did not had the occasion. I was quite curious how it would taste. For me personally, it tasted very good, in my opinion it has a sweet taste. Here is the recipe if you want to try it also.
Potato-mushroom casserole
Saturday, September 13, 2014
The
beautiful weather didn’t last too long so I could cook something again. Some
time ago I wrote down a casserole recipe that I wanted to try. And since I had
almost all the ingredients at home, I finally decided to cook it. So I bought
the missing two ingredients and I started cooking. And because the
potato-mushroom casserole tasted very good, the recipe made it on the blog.
Banana nectarines smoothie
Wednesday, September 10, 2014
Did
you miss the smoothie recipes? I've noticed that I haven’t posted one for a
long time. That will change today, because I have a summer smoothie for you. I
always remain with fruits that are a little too mushy to eat them like this.
Since I do not like to throw away food, I always make smoothies out of them. I
use all fruits I have...and so far I always liked the result.
Salad with tomatoes, goat cheese and currants
Sunday, September 7, 2014
I am now sitting for over 20 minutes before the PC trying to write an introduction for today's post. I started 10 different sentences but deleted all as I was not happy with the result. It's one of those days where I have zero inspiration. I'm sure I can sit here for hours and I will not get further. Therefore, I make it short and painless: Today a new salad recipe is waiting for you.
Pita bread
Thursday, September 4, 2014
Until today I have shown you two different recipes of humus. Once the classical version and the last time humus with grilled paprika. And every time I've told you that humus tastes best with pita bread. I always make my pita bread. I know a simple recipe that I want to share with you.
