Watermelon granita with mint

Watermelon granita with mint

I have told you already last year that I do not have a freezer. Therefore, it was almost impossible for me to make ice cream. This has changed in the meantime. No, I haven’t bought a new refrigerator (I do not have the space for it) but I bought an ice cream machine with compressor. I thought a lot if I should make this purchase because I do not eat every day ice. And I can’t freeze it either. But I decided to buy it anyway. Because I keep seeing great, unusual ice cream recipes and I am every time upset because I cannot try those recipes. But that will change now. The ice cream machine arrived last weekend and I already tested it. First I made a water melon granita with mint. For granita you really need a freezer, but it has worked well with the ice machine.

You need:

400 g water melon
10 mint leaves
juice from ½ lime

You get 2 portions
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Freeze Time: 4 hours

This is how we proceed:

  1. Peel watermelon, remove the seeds and dice the watermelon.
  2. Wash the mint leaves and shake dry.
  3. Give melon, mint and lime juice in a blender and puree.
  4. Place in a container and freeze.
  5. Stir every 30 minutes with a fork.

Give granita into glasses and garnish with mint.
