You're used from me with simple recipes and ingredients which you can buy in any supermarket. Today I make an exception. It still is a simple recipe but the main ingredient is exotic. Because today I share with you a recipe for ostrich filet. Yes, you read that right...ostrich filet. While I was in South Africa I ate for the first time ostrich meat. There it is not a specialty you get it everywhere...even at street festivals. And although I'm not the big meat eater, it must admit that the meat is very tasty. From the street festival I took with me a small recipe booklet. And then when I saw ostrich meat in a supermarket, I just had to buy it. Finally I had the possibility to try one of these recipes. And I've decided for the roasted ostrich filet with blue cheese topping. If you have the chance to buy this meat, do it.
You need:
350
g ostrich filet
65
g sour cream
1
tsp peppercorns, grounded
65
g blue cheese, crumbled
olive
oil
Preparation
time: 35 minutes

This is how we proceed:
Brush meat on both sides with olive oil. Quickly seal meat on both sides in a little olive oil in a grill pan.
For the topping combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Spread the topping over the meat and place meat in an oven tray.
I served the meat with glazed carrots.
