Grissini

Grissini

Hello! How are you? Today I have a new snack for you, namely bread sticks. It was a Sunday, all shops were closed and I carved for something salty. So what could I do? I went through recipes to be able to prepare something. I then decided for Grissini, because I had all the ingredients at home and they are also easy to prepare. I did that...and here is the recipe

Vegetarian quesadillas

Vegetarian quesadillas

Last year in autumn I went in Mexico for holidays. It was a beach holiday in Plaja del Carmen. It was so beautiful...in Vienna it was almost winter, and there were about 30 degrees. Sun, beach and sea...what more could you want? Maybe good food? I love the Mexican kitchen and I was curious to try many new dishes. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I ate guacamole daily. Always and everywhere. And salsa. And something that I liked to eat for breakfast was quesadillas. I did not want to wait until my next Mexico vacation to eat quesadillas again, so I made them at home. If you want to try also quesadillas, here is the recipe.

Buttermilk waffles

Does it sound familiar to you? You really want a new kitchen device/ gadget/ shoes/ clothes etc. and after you have it, it is not so often used? That's currently the situation with my waffle iron. I bought it about 2 year ago, but I used it only 2 times so far. That had to change, so today I baked buttermilk waffles. The result is delicious...that’s why I hope I'm going to make them often from now.

Red lentil soup

Red lentil soup

I was so happy about spring and the warm days. And now this...since several days it rains and it's so cold. I don’t like the cold and rainy days. I want to sit outside in the sun and enjoy a glass of Hugo. The only good thing about these rainy days is that I cook. So I was "forced" by this weather to cook this delicious red lentil soup. You will not believe me when I tell you that this soup was 5 years on my to-cook list. I have read good things about this Turkish red lentil soup. That it is very healthy and delicious. And guess what? That's true! So don’t wait many years to cook it.

Salad with dried tomatoes and mushrooms

Salad with dried tomatoes and mushrooms

Today I have for you a simple salad recipe. After I made the veggie burger some ingredients remained and had to be used. So I decided to make a salad. With the left over from the burgers and a few things that I had in the fridge I created this tasty salad. I like it when ingredients remain and I have to use them quickly because I always have to be creative.

Rhubarb jam

Rhubarb jam

I don’t know if I have told you before, but I love rhubarb and I am always happy when the rhubarb season begins. Then I bake a lot with rhubarb. New (rhubarb tart) but also old (rhubarb tiramisu) recipes are then baked. Last week I cooked again with rhubarb...this time I made rhubarb jam. I don’t really like jam so much because it is much too sweet for me. But rhubarb jam is just perfect...not too sweet, not too sour...as I said...perfect for my taste. I prepared a small amount, but I will prepare a few new glasses.

Naan bread

Naan bread

If you like Indian food, than you know the delicious naan bread, which is often served as a side dish for main courses. It can be dipped in curry, eaten with soup or served with tasty dips. I served the naan bread with humus. In India naan is usually baked on the open fire, but that does not mean that you cannot bake the naan bread at home. Here is a recipe for the naan bread.
