3, 2, 1...no, it's not time yet. But the year is over soon and I want to wish a Happy New Year. And if you don’t want to clink this year only with champagne then you can try this Pomegranate Prosecco cocktail.
Buttermilk Panna Cotta
Monday, December 28, 2015
My dears, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I thought for some days if I should post a recipe between Christmas and New Year or if I should take a little break. But than I decided to post this buttermilk panna cotta recipe. I think it a perfect dessert for the New Year menu. After I made eggplant with buttermilk sauce I had left over some buttermilk and ½ pomegranate. So I needed to find quickly a recipe so I could use these 2 ingredients. I was looking for a recipe and I bumped over the recipe for buttermilk panna cotta. I’ve often cooked panna cotta (another recipe that is waiting to be finally posted) but never with buttermilk. So I tried the recipe. As it was very tasty I now share the recipe with you.
Christmas tree cake-pops
Thursday, December 24, 2015
This is the last Christmas recipe for this year. Christmas tree cake-pops. Perfect for all those who still need to prepare something and don’t have so much time. It is a real simple recipe with simple ingredients and not time consuming. And the cake-pops are a eye catcher. I leave you with the recipe, and I wish you already Merry Christmas!
Eggplant with buttermilk sauce
Saturday, December 19, 2015
No, today I do not have a cookie recipe for you. I can not eat only biscuits. And you can’t either. Therefore, today I have for you a very delicious recipe of eggplants with buttermilk sauce that you must cook. Especially if you like eggplants. I love them, so this is why I love this recipe so much.

Rosemary oil & salt
Friday, December 11, 2015
From one day to the next my rosemary bush has started to wilt. Well, maybe I am also to blame... I have knocked it accidentally and it has fallen from the table. Whether I am to blame for his death, is no longer important...the important thing is that I had a lot of dried rosemary. What should I do with it…I do not cook every day and I did not want to throw it away. When I've made a salad one day and used the basil-olive oil for the dressing I had the idea: I make rosemary oil. And why not also rosemary salt. Said and done.
Cinnamon cookies
Monday, December 7, 2015
Many of my fellow blog colleagues have already begun some weeks ago to post Christmas recipes. And although I have already baked some Christmas cookie, I did not want to start posting them in November. Now the first week of December has passed and now I can open the Christmas bakery officially.
Oatmeal cookies
Sunday, November 29, 2015
Before the Christmas baking begins, I wanted to show you this wonderful oatmeal cookies recipe. When I was on a business trip, I bought some oatmeal cookies. Since I had to be in a workshop for the whole day, I had to take a snack with me. But I wanted to be something healthier. So I decided to buy oatmeal cookies. And believe me...they taste better than regular cookies. I wanted to bake these cookies at home. And so I was looking for a recipe. I found one in one of my books. As usual I changed a bit the recipe…I added to the dough dry fruits and cinnamon. And the result tastes wonderful.
Orange liqueur
Tuesday, November 24, 2015
I wanted to make orange liqueur for a long time. But I didn’t have a recipe. Don’t get me wrong, the internet is full of recipes for orange liqueur. But that is the problem: the recipes are so different, so I didn’t know which one to pick. In some recipes you only used the orange peel, and in some the whole orange. Some you have to leave for months to infuse while others only 1 week. So which recipe should I pick? I even asked my food-blogger friend Verena from Sweets and lifestyle if she has a good recipe, as her boyfriend is distiller. But even they had no recipe. So I decided to create my own recipe. And it worked out and I got a very delicious orange liqueur. And since the orange liqueur is suitable as a Christmas gift, I publish the recipe today. So you still have time to make one yourself.
Chestnut cake
Friday, November 20, 2015
I’ve made it!!! I've really made it!!! Now you ask yourself: what the heck is she talking about? Is she so happy that she baked a cake? No, I don’t mean that...I am happy that I did manage to post the recipe this year. I was firmly convinced that I will have to wait until next year. But I was wrong...and so the chestnut cake made it this year on the blog. Although I already have a plan what and when to post, from time to time other things come in between, so I cannot follow my plan. But frankly, most of the time I do not care...only when I plan to publish a recipe that need to be prepared with seasonal ingredients. That is why I am so happy that this time I managed to post the recipe in time :) I stop now…here is the recipe.
Beetroot risotto
Monday, November 16, 2015
Actually, it was planned that I share today the chestnut cake recipe with you. But in the meantime I made this beetroot risotto and I had to share the recipe with you. As you already know I love beetroot. I saw this recipe for beetroot risotto aboutv1 month ago and wanted to try it out right away. But then I did not have time to cook it: because of business travel, vacation and other things. Then…a few days I cooked the recipe...and I am thrilled. On the same evening I have written the post. This is something that does not happen so frequently. But I do not want to torture you any longer…here is the recipe for beetroot risotto.
Chestnut puree
Thursday, November 12, 2015
I'm not really a fan of chestnuts. I always eat1-2 and that’s it. But there is of a particular company that produces chocolates filled with chestnut puree. And these chocolates are addictive. I could eat a whole box. Therefore I bought chestnuts and made chestnuts puree. You can eat it like this, use it with pancakes, for pralines or to bake a cake. I did bake a cake. But before I show you the cake recipe, first you need to know how to make chestnut puree.

Yogurt Chicken
Tuesday, November 3, 2015
I started this blog 4 years ago with the intention to have my virtual recipe collection. I used to cook also in the past, just not as often as now, and I constantly lost my recipes. For this not to happen anymore I started to blog. Why am I telling you this now? Well, because I lost a recipe again. I was so sure that I have saved it somewhere...but no... I find nothing. I can not remember exactly where I have saved the recipe. Luckily, I took pictures so I can share the recipe with you today. Otherwise, the recipe for yogurt chicken would have been lost forever.
Vegetable spread
Thursday, October 29, 2015
Today I have again a typical Romanian recipe. It is a vegetable spread - known as zacuscă in Romania. It is the first time that I make this dish. When I was living in Romania, my grandmother was making this spread for me. But now I live in Vienna and it was about time that I cook the vegetable spread. I took the recipe from my grandma, so it is a family recipe. Since I did not read it carefully, I have changed it a bit. But that did not affect the final result, but I had a lot more work. I must warn you...you need a lot of patience to make this vegetable spread…I worked two days on it.

Sterilizing bottles and jars – how it is done
Saturday, October 24, 2015
As I intend, to show you in the near future recipes where you need sterilized bottles or jars, I thought I write a special post for this topic. If we want that our homemade jam, our pickles or homemade liqueur last long and does not begin to mold, we need to sterilize the jars /bottles. Today I show you how I do it.
Chocolate blancmange with cinnamon pears
Tuesday, October 20, 2015
Last year I've written down in my recipe book the recipe for chocolate blancmange with cinnamon pears. But only this week I finally had time to make it. I always see so many great recipes that I want to cook/ bake, but I do not have always the time. And sometimes I do not want to cook. And once I have the time and am in the mood to cook, I can no longer find a particular ingredient, because the season is already over. This happened last year. But now the pear has season again so I prepared the chocolate blancmange with cinnamon pears this week. A little tip from me: if you want to bake it, then don’t wait for one year. Otherwise you are missing something.
Beetroot-mozzarella-tomato salad
Thursday, October 15, 2015
I love beetroot and I am happy every time it has season. I like to eat it in soups, risotto, salads or even in cakes (yes, you read that correctly...recipe will follow). This time I decided to use the beetroot again in a salad. I bought fresh beetroot and cooked them myself, but you can buy the pre-cooked ones. I like very much the salad (well... it contains everything I like, I did not expect something else) and today I want to share the recipe with you.
Pumpkin rolls
Sunday, October 11, 2015
Today’s recipe is for pumpkin giant roll. In the past I already published a recipe for cinnamon rolls, now I originally wanted to bake some with a walnut filling. But then I saw the recipe of pumpkin rolls at Sabina from Starlight in the Kitchen and I had to try it out. At least I wanted to try out the filling, although I changed it a bit. And on Jenny’s blog Zimt, Zucker und Liebe I have seen a recipe of a giant roll. So I decided to bake a pumpkin giant roll instead of normal-sized pumpkin rolls. Although I already had a very good batter recipe, I decided to try another one. The winner was the recipe from the book "Swedish culinary classics" - a gift from my friend Iulia. Now you know the story of this recipe. It is a simple recipe, but you have to schedule about 3 hours for it (including rest and baking time).
Salmon cream
It's Saturday night and I'm sitting here in front of my PC... laptop to be more precise and I prepare tomorrow's post. As I will go to the cinema today, I'll be very quick...as I still have to get ready. This time I have again a super simple recipe for you - namely salmon cream.

Pumpkin bruschetta
Saturday, October 3, 2015
Today I prepared a nice, quick and easy pumpkin recipe for you: pumpkin bruschetta with feta cheese and rocket salad. It is a great autumnal starter. But it can also be served as a snack at a Halloween party.
Potato soup with chanterelles
Monday, September 28, 2015
With autumn the soup season begins. Because let's face it: who wants to cook or eat soup at 30 degrees. I surly do not want. Well, I'm not talking of cold soups. You can prepare them during the summer. Since you don’t even have to turn on the stove. Now it's getting colder and soups are more than welcome. My first soup I cooked is this delicious potato soup with chanterelles. A simple potato soup was too boring for me, so I spiced it a bit up. And the result is just WOW.
Baked Camembert with figs and honey
Thursday, September 24, 2015
I have told you in the previous post that I just had buy the figs when I saw them. What I didn’t tell you is that I have once again bought too many. So I had 2 unused figs. I had to use them before they go bad. But I had no idea what to cook/ bake with them. When I browsed on Pinterest, I found a picture of the baked Camembert with figs and honey. And so I knew what I'm going to bake next.
Figs tartelettes
Sunday, September 20, 2015
What I like about autumn are the seasonal products. Finally you can finds again figs, pears, plums, pumpkins, chestnuts or different mushrooms. What I do not like about fall are the low temperatures. Especially when they drop from one day to the other. Since a cold is almost inevitable. But I am looking forward to cooking with the above ingredients. When I saw figs, I just bought them. And then I knew what I was going to prepare with them – this fine tartelettes with goat cheese, honey and figs. Do not worry if you do not like goat cheese –you can take normal cream cheese. That should not be an obstacle for not baking this tartelettes. :)
Beef stew with carrots
Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Today all my meat-loving readers will be happy, because I finally posted again a dish containing meat. As you already know my meat consumption is very low. Especially in the summer. Unfortunately, the summer is (currently) over, so now we can cook something else then salads. I have cooked the last weekend this beef stew with carrots and now I share the recipe with you.
Berry cake
Friday, September 11, 2015
As you already know, I'm not a talent when it comes to cakes. For some reason they never look as I want. But they always taste good, and that's more important. But about today's berries cake I am a bit proud ... because it does not only tastes good but it also looks good. At least this is my opinion. Well, you cannot do a lot wrong here...but still. I'm pretty happy with the result.
Pasta to go
Monday, September 7, 2015
Jenny from www.tulpentag.blogspot.de invited us to a picnic. This is a special picnic because Jenny wants something very specific... she just wants pasta dishes. Because I like the theme and I love to eat pasta, I've decided to join her picnic. After some thinking I opted for a pasta salad with cherry tomatoes, baby mozzarella, Parma ham and rocket salad, because this dish tastes very good no matter if you serve it warm or cold. Before I go to the picnic, I leave you with the recipe.
Watermelon martini
Thursday, September 3, 2015
Hi all! Today I have a cocktail recipe for you - watermelon martini. I drank this cocktail recently at a bar and I liked it very much. A few weeks later I mixed it myself and today I will share the result with you.
Eggplant mousse
Sunday, August 30, 2015
There are dishes that are not photogenic. One example is today’s eggplant mousse. This is the third time I want to share this recipe with you and I am still not satisfied with the photos. But since I do not know how to do the mousse look better I will have to use the pictures that I have.

Lemon mousse
Wednesday, August 26, 2015
Tina from www.tinastausendschoen.de invited us to a virtual white dinner party. I cannot miss such an elegant event. So I already picked out the white dress and white shoes that I will be wearing. To a white dinner you don’t go empty-handed, so I will bring a light and airy lemon mousse.
Green smoothie – summer edition
Saturday, August 22, 2015
I tried again to make a green smoothie. This time I wanted to create a summery smoothie and I think I have succeeded. It is refreshing which is perfect for hot summer days. Here is the recipe if I've made you curious.
Pizza with cheese edge
Tuesday, August 18, 2015
Not too long ago, I received an email from Tchibo, with the question if I wanna participate to their Blog Parade - Mediterranean cuisine. I then spontaneously said yes...because I like their products (mainly the ones for the kitchen). I had to choose between a pizza, pasta or salad set. I then decided to go for the pizza set, because it also includes a pizza stone. I read recently about it and I was but not sure if it is worth buying. I also showed you the basic recipe for pizza dough and pizza sauce...but I did not show you a pizza recipe for some time.
Gazpacho
Friday, August 14, 2015
Gazpacho is a typical Spanish soup that is served cold. This tasty cold dish has its origins in Andalusia. I ate the first time Gazpacho this year. Not in Andalusia but in Barcelona. Until now, I always had the impression that I will not like it. But when I had the opportunity to try it I did it. And I must say that this I really liked the taste of this soup.
Roasted peaches with ricotta cream and basil honey
Monday, August 10, 2015
Today I have a super delicious dessert for you. And the great thing about this dessert is that it is super fast to prepare. You do not need more than 20 minutes. I just love this kind of recipes. Cooking and baking does not automatically mean that you have to spend hours in the kitchen...because let us be honest: no one wants that nor has the time to do so. That is why I am very glad that there are such recipes. And now I leave you with the recipe for roasted peaches with ricotta cream and basil honey.
Eggplant with feta, tomato and onion
Thursday, August 6, 2015
I love the summer and I love the heat. I really don’t mind when it is hot outside. To refresh myself I eat salads, drink a lot of lemonade and I eat ice. But now and then I want something else. So even if it's hot outside, I cook from time to time. But I do this always in the evening when it is cooler. And it must go fast. Just as at today's recipe: eggplant with feta, tomatoes and onion.

Carrot feta dip
Wednesday, July 29, 2015
Newly I showed you what you can do with mushrooms that you don’t use for cooking. And this time I will show you what you can do with carrots. I always remain with leftovers. This is for sure familiar for every one of you. And then I always ask myself what I can do with them. From the carrots I made this delicious dip.

Melon feta salad
Saturday, July 25, 2015
I must confess to you that I have been wondering whether to post this recipe or not. It's such a simple recipe but so tasty and refreshing. I thought that all must know this summer salad. I know it only since last summer, so I've decided to share the melon feta salad recipe with you, because it may be that you do not know it.
Elderflower ice cream
Tuesday, July 21, 2015
There is a simple reason why I do not post ice cream recipes. No, it is not because I do not like ice cream, because that's not true. It is because I have no freezer. How can that be? It's simple...while I found my new apartment, I did not realize that there is none. But you know what...that is not so bad. The only downside is that I cannot prepare ice cream. If I ever want to make ice cream, then I have to go to my friends. For them it is not a big problem. But for me it is because in addition to the ingredients and ice molds I have to carry around the camera and props for the photos. But what don’t I do to make you happy? So I did all that and the result is this yummy elderflower ice.
Pickled mushrooms
Friday, July 17, 2015
I once again made spring onion pancakes with mushrooms & goat cheese. And I did not use all of the mushrooms. I didn’t want to cook something else but I also didn’t want to throw them away. And then I had the idea - why don’t I make picked mushrooms? Said and done. I used champignons. You can also use other mushrooms but you should not mix them.
Mango yogurt cheesecake
Monday, July 13, 2015
Although I do not like to cook/ bake on this heat, I craved for something sweet. And what is more perfect than a cake without baking? I opted for a cheesecake. I've already found my perfect recipe that I can vary, but this time I experimented quite a bit. The experiment was a success and today I show you my mango yogurt cheesecake recipe. There are no step-by-step pictures, because I made the cake in the late evening. But you can see photos of the preparation steps in the older post.
Watermelon lemonade
Thursday, July 9, 2015
Tuesday was the hottest day of the year. And while many were working, I had a day off and I spent at the pool and in the sun. Because it was so warm, I only eat ice. And drank a refreshing, cooling watermelon lemonade. And since more hot days will surely follow, I share the recipe with you today.
Salad with chickpeas, avocado and dried tomatoes
Sunday, July 5, 2015
Finally the summer arrived also here in Vienna! How long I've been waiting for it. Frankly, I was a bit afraid that the summer will never arrive in Vienna - especially at the end of May, when we had only 15 degrees. But now it is here, and now everything is well. But there is a downside of summer...I have no desire to spend time in the kitchen. But I have to eat so salads are more than welcome. Therefore I have today a very tasty and healthy salad recipe for you: salad with chick peas, avocado and dried tomatoes.
Bagel with cream and salmon
Wednesday, July 1, 2015
Some time ago, I shared with you the basic recipe for bagels. And now I will show you an example of what I prepare with them. I often take bagels instead of buns and make sandwiches. Today I show you how I prepare the bagel with salmon.
Cherry jam
Saturday, June 27, 2015
I'm not a fan of jam...to be honest I eat jam very, very rarely. It's just too sweet for me. My grandma is always offended that I never want to try her homemade jam and that I never want to take some with me. She does not understand that I do not eat jam. Nevertheless, I now made a glass of cherry jam. How did this happen? It's simple...I had bought again too many cherries. I wanted to make cherry clafoutis, but I did not have the time. And before the cherries get bad and rotten I decided to make jam from them. I will use it as a filling for pancakes or croissants.
Pasta alla Genovese
Monday, June 22, 2015
Lately I cooked and baked only to use the leftovers. I still have a few apples that were not used? No problem...I'm making apple compote. I still have half a kilo of cherries that I did not use for the cake...no problem...I'm doing jam. And it goes on like this. Also this recipe was cooked in order to use some leftovers. For pasta alla Genovese you need pesto. I had some corn salad that I did not use, but didn’t want to eat salad anymore. So it was processed into pesto. And it was used for pasta alla Genovese.
Milk slices
Thursday, June 18, 2015
Hi. This time I will show you how you can make delicious milk slices. I love the milk slices and wanted to make them by my own. So I searched for a recipe and found it on a Romanian blog a few years ago. I find that the taste of the homemade milk slices comes very close to the original one. If you are also a fan of milk slice, then you have to try this recipe!
Hugo reinvented
Sunday, June 14, 2015
In this post I made you familiar with Hugo. Today I present to you a variation of this beverage that tastes just as good as the original. Or maybe better? I cannot answer to this question - you have to find it out for yourself.
Pizza sauce
Wednesday, June 10, 2015
Some time ago I showed you how to prepare pizza dough. But what is a pizza without the pizza sauce? And that should also be home made, especially since it is so easy to make. You need not to invest more than 15 minutes. I promise!

Homemade cheeseburger
Saturday, June 6, 2015
My dears, today I have a cheeseburger recipe for you. Since I prepared these cheeseburgers quite spontaneously and in the late evening, I took no pictures of the preparation steps. I didn’t plan to post the recipe – but because the burgers tasted so good, I didn’t want to withhold the recipe from you.
Cheese sticks
Tuesday, June 2, 2015
2 weeks ago, during the Eurovision Song Contest weekend I baked these cheese sticks. But not for the Song Contest, no, I've watched it together with friends in a nice little bar. The cheese sticks were baked on Sunday. I have obtained from the used ingredient amount 3 baking trays and 2 were eaten on the same day (do not worry I was not alone). So I have the confirmation that they taste very good. I will bake the cheese sticks often...they are ideal for a movie night or as a snack.
