My
dears, today I blog the last recipe of the year 2014. It is a delicious
chocolate cake with milk cream. Unfortunately my cake does not look very nice,
but I can promise you that it tastes great. I leave you now with the recipe.
But before that, I wish you a Happy New Year!

Tuesday, December 23, 2014
Hello my dear readers. Here I am again with a new recipe that is perfect for this time of the year. Actually today I wanted to show you something different, so to say a last minute gift idea from the kitchen. Unfortunately I was not successfully in my attempt. So I had to think of something else and so I baked these delicious baked apples. And they are so delicious that I can not deny you this recipe. Therefore, today I want to share with you this recipe for baked apples with marzipan and walnut filling.
Cinnamon macarons
Friday, December 19, 2014
I've read a lot about macarons...that they are very hard to make. When I read this I asked myself: what could possibly be so hard. The recipe consists of 3 ingredients...so what could go wrong?
Christmas muffins
Sunday, December 14, 2014
Dear readers, I'm back after a short unforeseen break from the blog. This can happen when you do not plan any blog posts in advance and then, due to the everyday program you just do not get to write. But now I'm here, and this is what counts. It is not so long until Christmas and I wanted to give you some ideas about what you could bake for Christmas. This time I don’t have recipes for classic biscuits, as I did not have time to bake some. The first recipe I want to share with you is one for Christmas muffins. Here is the recipe:

Amaretto punch
Monday, December 1, 2014
The
punch-season is officially open. In the past 2 weeks I already drank 2 times
punch and I will certainly do it again. Whenever I visit the Christmas markets
or when I go skating I drink a glass of punch. But unfortunately I did not
found a place where they sell really good punch. Why do I then still go to
drink punch? Well I hope I will find that one place were they sell tasty punch.
But until that happens, I'll just prepare the punch myself as it is quite
simple. Today I will show you how easy it is to prepare an amaretto punch.
Lava Cake - a new attempt after 3 years
Thursday, November 27, 2014
Exactly 3 years ago, I posted my first recipe. Yes, today my blog celebrates its 3rd birthday. Who would have thought...I certainly not. I am the kind of person who tries many things, begins many things, but also gets bored quickly and doesn’t continue doing those things. This happened with painting, drawing, creating jewelry. And it surprises me that my blog really celebrates its 3rd birthday. I was sure that also the interest for cooking, writing, taking and edit photos will vanish soon. But as you can see I was wrong. Ok, I must admit, sometimes I really am not in the mood to cook or bake something, take pictures or post a new recipe...but luckily it does not happen very often.
Sweet bread loaves
Monday, November 24, 2014
A dear work colleague brought me some cookies from her favorite spa. I was happy about this and then I get on working. Later, I wanted to eat something sweet and so I tried one of the biscuits. And I was instantly in love. They are so delicious, you can not imagine. After all the "Ohhhh" and "Ahhhh" and "Mmmmm" and "Whoa, are the delicious" I read what I actually eat. On the packet it was written: sweet loaf of bread. And what do I do next? You guessed it...I am looking for a recipe on the internet. I found one and after that I baked them...ok, not quite after then but Saturday I baked this sweet bread loaves. I tell you something...someone has to hide them from me...they taste so good.
Roasted chickpeas - a healthy snack
Wednesday, November 19, 2014
Hello my dears! Today I want to show you an idea for a healthy snack. Everyone wants to nibble something in the evening when they are watching a movie. When I want to have a snack I eat either nachos or homemade chips. And now I have tried something new: roasted chickpeas. Yes, you read that right...chickpeas...they taste great not only as humus but also as snack. This snack is made so easy and it does not take so much time. And here's the proof:
Vanilla sauce
Saturday, November 15, 2014
In the past I used to cook quite often with cake mix, instant soups or instant sauces. But that was a long time ago. Nowadays I try to do everything myself. Of course there are a few exceptions, but very few. I've learned that many things are very easy to make at home. Just as this vanilla sauce. It does not take much time, is quite simple to make and it tastes 100 times better than the instant product. And I always know what it is inside. And here's the proof that it is so simple.

Plum bundt cake
Sunday, November 9, 2014
Dear
people! I have so many recipes that I want to share with you and this makes it
sometimes hard for me to decide what I should post next. Some recipes are now
waiting to see the light of the day for more than a year...you can also see
that by the quality of the pictures. But not today's recipe. I baked this plum
bundt cake two weeks ago. Since the plums still have season, I thought I share
the recipe with you (and not wait another year or more to do so).
Osttiroler Schlipfkrapfen
Thursday, November 6, 2014
By now I have lived in Austria for more then 3 years and I noticed today that I have only one typical Austrian dish on the blog. And there are plenty of dishes that I like. But this fact will change in the future as I will post some recipes for Austrian dishes. I will start with the Osttiroler Schlipfkrapfen, something I cooked last weekend for the first time. This is a typical dish from East Tyrol and it is almost similar to the Italian ravioli. If you want to try them, then here is the recipe.
Pumpkin Spice Syrup & Pumpkin Spice Latte
Monday, November 3, 2014
The
last time I showed you that you can use pumpkin not only for soups or salads,
but also for cookies. And today I show
you how you can do homemade spice syrup and pumpkin spice latte. It's really
easy and it is a lot better than the bought stuff. You don’t believe me? Then you
have to try it out, so here is the recipe.
Pumpkin cookies
Thursday, October 30, 2014
I'm actually a summer person. I love the summer and if it were up to me it would be summer 12 months per year. But the other seasons have also their charm. In Autumn I like the most the colors of the trees. I could look at the wonderfully colored leaves all day long and I would not be bored. What else do I like about autumn? The fruits and vegetables that have now season: chestnuts, figs, pumpkin...yes, especially the pumpkin. It tastes so great whether as cheesecake, as a warm salad, a soup or biscuits. Yes, you read correct: you can also use pumpkins in the preparation of biscuits. You do not believe me? Well, I have the proof for you, because today I have a delicious pumpkin cookies recipe for you.
Vegetarian pizza
Monday, October 27, 2014
Not long ago I visited a photography workshop. The workshop took place on Saturday and on Sunday I wanted to try out what I learned. So I baked a pizza. I used the pizza dough from Tante Fanny so in 25 minutes the pizza was ready. I let you decide If I improved my photography skills. Regarding the pizza ... I can only say .... mmmmhhhhh .....
Spinach mango tangerine smoothie
Tuesday, October 21, 2014
I
do not know it is for you, but this climate that changes every day makes me
feel bad. In the morning it is cold, and in the afternoon and evening it is
warm. These big temperature differences are not good for me...and not just for
me. Many people have these days the flu. To strengthen our immune system, we
should now take a lot of vitamins. And what is better than a healthy smoothie? A
green smoothie. Here is one that I can recommend to you.
Guinness cake
Friday, October 17, 2014
Hi all! You can not imagine how long I wanted to post this recipe. I am sure
I've baked this Guinness cake already 5 times...and each time I told myself
that I need to post the recipe because the cake tastes heavenly. But please
don't ask me why it took so long as I cannot answer this question. But now I
managed it and the recipe for Guinness cake is now online. And this is all that
it counts.
Turkey strips in cream and mushroom sauce
Tuesday, October 14, 2014
Last
Friday I was not working, because together with a few colleagues I cooked in the Gruft. My employer organizes every year the
Volunteer Day and some of us have the opportunity to participate in various
social projects. I sign up every time, and until now I participated every year.
This year again in the Gruft...this means to cook lunch for 180 people. This year
we cooked Turkey
strips in cream and mushroom sauce. Saturday I then cooked the recipe for me,
and now I share it here with you.
Risotto with dried tomatoes
Friday, October 10, 2014
My dears...although I came back from my short vacation some days ago I must be honest and confess that I wasn't shopping yet . Therefore I have to cook with the ingredients I find at home in my pantry. So today I cooked risotto with dried tomatoes.
Carrot-orange soup
Tuesday, October 7, 2014
If you asked yourself why it was so quiet here in the last few days, here is the reason: I was on vacation for a few days. I returned home Sunday afternoon and I was very hunger. I did not have so many things in the fridge but luckily for me I've found a couple of carrots, a potato and an onion. I added a few spices, some orange juice and crème fraîche and so I cooked a delicious soup.
Beef carpaccio
Thursday, October 2, 2014
Today I thought that my PC will break down. For weeks it has had problems...I cannot turn it on, it lasts for ages until it starts or all I get is a black screen. I think it is a windows problem and I need to reinstall it. Luckily I managed to turn it on today so that I can write today's post. And before it turnes off again, here's the recipe. Nothing elaborate, but very tasty: beef carpaccio.
Chocolate apple cake
Monday, September 29, 2014
Today I remembered why I prefer cooking blogs over cook books or cooking magazines. What happened? I'll tell you. I found a recipe in a magazine and wanted to bake it. I checked if I have all the ingredients and went to work. In the middle of the process I noticed that one of the ingredients was not mentioned during the description of the preparation steps. But this could not be. Well, I'm no longer a beginner, and I know where I need to use (flour in this case) this ingredient. But the magazine praises the fact that this recipe is ideal for beginners. So if I were a beginner, I would not have known where I have to use the flour...or I would have certainly left it out...and that's annoying. Then I discovered a second error...the baking temperature was not specified. Oh great! I'm not saying that the food bloggers don’t make such mistakes. But you can write a comment and inform the blogger.
Mushroom pâté
Thursday, September 25, 2014
Good morning! I do not know about you, but I like spreads. Luckily, there are so many varieties, that you never get bored. And many of them can be done easily at home. Today I have a vegetarian spread for you – to be more precise I have a mushroom spread for you. I have uses champignons, but I am sure that one can use also other mushrooms.

Porridge with fruits
Saturday, September 20, 2014
I must confess...regarding porridge I was pretty skeptical. For a long time I saw on other blogs porridge recipes ... but somehow the dish didn’t look so appealing to me. I told myself, I will try it sometimes, but it was never on my "this-I-must-try-list". So what has changed in the meantime? I visited my friend in London, and she asked me if I wanted to have porridge for breakfast. And I thought ... why not ... now I have the opportunity to try it. And what do you know...topped with some honey/ sugar and fruit it tastes quite well.
Red pepper cream soup
Tuesday, September 16, 2014
Unfortunately, the weather was not very nice this weekend: it was very gray and it also rained. The weather made me change my weekend plans as I was not able to spend the day out. So I read much but I also cooked a lot. I wanted to try out a few recipes and now I finally had the tie to do so. For example I wanted to cook this red pepper cream soup since spring, but I did not had the occasion. I was quite curious how it would taste. For me personally, it tasted very good, in my opinion it has a sweet taste. Here is the recipe if you want to try it also.
Potato-mushroom casserole
Saturday, September 13, 2014
The
beautiful weather didn’t last too long so I could cook something again. Some
time ago I wrote down a casserole recipe that I wanted to try. And since I had
almost all the ingredients at home, I finally decided to cook it. So I bought
the missing two ingredients and I started cooking. And because the
potato-mushroom casserole tasted very good, the recipe made it on the blog.
Banana nectarines smoothie
Wednesday, September 10, 2014
Did
you miss the smoothie recipes? I've noticed that I haven’t posted one for a
long time. That will change today, because I have a summer smoothie for you. I
always remain with fruits that are a little too mushy to eat them like this.
Since I do not like to throw away food, I always make smoothies out of them. I
use all fruits I have...and so far I always liked the result.
Salad with tomatoes, goat cheese and currants
Sunday, September 7, 2014
I am now sitting for over 20 minutes before the PC trying to write an introduction for today's post. I started 10 different sentences but deleted all as I was not happy with the result. It's one of those days where I have zero inspiration. I'm sure I can sit here for hours and I will not get further. Therefore, I make it short and painless: Today a new salad recipe is waiting for you.
Pita bread
Thursday, September 4, 2014
Until today I have shown you two different recipes of humus. Once the classical version and the last time humus with grilled paprika. And every time I've told you that humus tastes best with pita bread. I always make my pita bread. I know a simple recipe that I want to share with you.
Humus with grilled paprika
Sunday, August 31, 2014
I don’t know if I told you this, but I really like humus. Whenever I go to my favourite Lebanese restaurant, I order a dish that contains humus. And you will find humus quite often also in my fridge. Today I decided to try another humus recipe. And you know what? I really like the taste. This is also the reason why I share the recipe with you.

Plum dumplings
Wednesday, August 27, 2014
My first attempt to make plum dumplings ended in a small desaster. I used a kilo of flour (you had to use only 100g) and the dough was just too sticky to form dumplings from it. So I had to trow it in the trash. That was 4 years ago. At that time I comforted with the idea that I cannot make dumplings. In the meantime, I've decided to give the dumplings another chance. I researched a bit, have read various recipes (and there are many variants) and then tried it again. And it worked. And here is the recipe
White sangria
Sunday, August 24, 2014
Last year I spent my holiday in Portugal. And this year it was Spain's turn...Ibiza and Formentera to be more specific. And whenever we went out to eat, we ordered Sangria...we have tried everything: white sangria, red sangria, Cava sangria... we tried out even green sangria. And because I rather miss the summer in this moment, yesterday I made a white sangria...it reminds me of the great time I had in my holiday.
Salmon wrap with radishes
Thursday, August 21, 2014
The lovely Ulli from Fit and Happy just become a mum recently.. But as she wants to take care of her other baby - her blog - she asked if there is someone who wishes to publish a guest post on her blog. I did not hesitate and I answered to her request...we bloggers have to stick together and help each other. Therefore, you can read today's recipe...a healthy wrap...on her blog. Just press here.
Spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino
Monday, August 18, 2014
Spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino is one of the easiest pasta recipes. And I have never eaten it. Hard to believe, right? How can it be? There is a very simple explanation: although you can find this dish in almost all restaurants, I've never ordered it. Why? Because it is such a simple dish that you can cook it quickly at home and when I go to the restaurant, I want to try something fancy. And why did it took so long until I cooked it? Well, because there was always something more interesting to be cooked. But today my fridge was empty...and so I was finally able to cook spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino. And now when I write this post, I enjoy another serving.
Greek salad
Thursday, August 14, 2014
I know, I know ... again a salad. And not even something special. But what can I do? The weather is just perfect so I do not want to stay behind the stove. So it has to be fast. And what is more perfect than salads? Or do you prefer to cook instead of laying in the sun? I confess that I prefer enjoying the day outside. Autumn and winter will sooner or later come...then I do not mind to sit in a warm room and cook. So, for all those who rather prefer to spend the day outside, here the recipe:
Berry clafoutis
Sunday, August 10, 2014
In the previous post I told you that I had to buy the berries, since I had a few ideas what I can do with them. Beside the Berry-Oreo-Milkshake I baked also this dessert.
Roasted peaches, nectarines and apricots
Wednesday, August 6, 2014
Last week I wanted something sweet, but not a cake. But to eat only fruits was also boring. And then I remembered a recipe that I have seen some years ago in a TV show. Luckily, I've written down the recipe in my recipe book. So I searched the recipe, found it and cooked roasted peaches, nectarines and apricots.
Berry-Oreo-Milkshake
Sunday, August 3, 2014
Last summer I have seen this delicious Oreo Strawberry-Shake on Janneke’s blog Orangenmond and I have decided to try it. Well, since I cannot eat strawberries (I'm allergic) I had to find an alternative. And so a few months have passed.
Mushroom tart with blue cheese
Wednesday, July 30, 2014
If
you only knew how hard it was for me to get a rectangular tart form. I've been
looking for it for more than 1 year...yes...you read right…more than a year. I
have been looking for the form in all kind of shops...in the super expensive
ones but also in the normal shops where you can find baking/ cooking supplies.
But this form was not to be found. Many looked at me weird, "a rectangular
tart form...never heard of it." Or, "Yes, we have it!" And I was
thinking: "Yes!". And then the disappointment...it was only a normal
loaf form. I tried in online shops…but nothing...respectively I found some but
at prices that I did not want to pay. So I've already given up the idea of owning
such a form.
The easiest chocolate cake in the world
Sunday, July 27, 2014
Hello
my dear readers. Today I have for you the easiest chocolate cake in the world.
Well...I can not vouch that it is really the easiest chocolate cake in the
world, but that was the name under which I found this recipe on Birgit’s Blog. At first I wanted to change the
recipe and make a cherry-chocolate cake. But while I was preparing the dough, I
nibbled from the cherries and in the end I did not have enough for the cake. So
this time I share with you the original recipe. I must say, this cake is baked
really quickly and tastes delicious.
Chicken skewers
Thursday, July 24, 2014
My friend Iulia is the proud owner of a small garden. And that in the center of Vienna. How I envy her for that! What's so great about such a garden? Well, you can lie whenever you want in your own garden, you can grow vegetables, herbs or flowers. Or you can grill. Luckily, I'm always present when she grills. So I can try out a few barbecue recipes and share them with you. If also the neighbors are so happy that's another story. But if they will ever complain, than we will invite them too :)
Eggs in avocado boat
Sunday, July 20, 2014
It happened again. I have seen a photo of the eggs in avocado boat on Facebook and I had to cook them. I did not even need a recipe...the photo has spoken for itself. Luckily I had all the ingredients in the fridge so within 20 minutes I could eat the eggs in avocado boat. If you want to cook also this tasty dish, then read on.
Hugo
Thursday, July 17, 2014
Do
you know Hugo? No? This has to change. Now you wonder who Hugo is. No, I'm
talking about an actor, cooking chef or a singer. I speak here of the South Tyrolean appetizer – a light, fizzy and above all
tasty drink. And to not forget...it is easy to prepare at home.
Hawaiian salmon salad
Monday, July 14, 2014
My dears, I'm back from my vacation. It was wonderful...sun, sand and sea. And good food. If I could I would have remained there for ever. But at some point you have to go back. Currently I have to do without the sand and sea. Unfortunately, even without the sun, but it should be again sunny in a few days. But thankfully I do not have to give up on good food. In my vacation I've eaten quite a bit, so we start now with something light. On today's menu we have Lomi Lomi – a Hawaiian salmon salad. Normally for this salad you need to use fresh salmon. This is then rubbed with sea salt, wrapped in clingfilm and kept in the fridge overnight. But I have used smoked salmon.
Malabi
Thursday, July 3, 2014
Before
I go in my well deserved holidays, I want to share a very tasty recipe with
you. It is a dessert and it is called Malabi. Malabi is a well known dessert in
Israel.
In Turkey, Lebanon, Syria,
Jordan and Egypt people
know it as Muhallibieh. But what is Malabi? It’s only milk pudding, made in 15
minutes. Sounds like a dessert for children, but also you will love it. Just
give it a try.
Meatballs alla Norma
Sunday, June 29, 2014
After
all the salads, cakes and drinks, it is time to post again a more consistent
recipe. So today we have meatballs alla Norma. The last time so I visited my
friend Geta, she showed me a couple of recipes that she wanted to cook/ bake.
Among them there was this recipe. When I saw the recipe I told her that she is not
allowed to cook it because I am going to. And so this dish was cooked last
Saturday. Of course, my girlfriends were also invited for dinner. We liked it,
and now it is your turn to try out the recipe.
Cucumber spritzer made from homemade cucumber syrup
Wednesday, June 25, 2014
Andra
from http://xpriment.com/ organized at the beginning of June the Vienna bloggers meeting.
I registered at the event at the very last minute. I met old and new bloggers
and I spent a beautiful evening with good food and good drinks. The meeting
took place in the Lokal Pergola where I drank for the first time a cucumber
spritzer. I liked the taste of it so much that I began ordering it also in
other bars. Unfortunately, none have tasted like the one in Pergola. So I took
the decision to make cucumber syrup, so I can mix my own cucumber spritzer.
Amaretto-strawberry mini bundt cake
Saturday, June 21, 2014
It's
official ... the mini bundt cake madness has also caught up with me. I have
strive against it for a long time, but then I was weak and bought the book
"Feine Gugl". I played with the idea of buying a mini bundt form for
some time, but was not 100% sure if I really should. The mini bundt cake look
so cute, but do I really need them? Do I really need another book and another
baking pan? Don’t I have enough cooking stuff? The answer to all these
questions is: NO…I don’t need a new form and a new book. And that went well a
few months...but then I was weak. Well...at least I've tried. And I don't
regret buying it...because these mini cakes are not only a highlight for the
eye, no, they taste absolutely delicious.
Panzanella
Wednesday, June 18, 2014
What to do with a ton of tomatoes, a half full glass of capers and a forgotten bread in the fridge? Well, who can guess? Right! An Italian bread salad. Together with another 2-3 ingredients you get a very good tasting summer salad.
Beacon and egg breakfast muffins
Saturday, June 14, 2014
During the week I 'm not a breakfast person. I wake up pretty early, then I'm not hungry and I don’t have time for breakfast. This is the reason why my breakfast consists during the week mostly from a yogurt , rice pudding or a sandwich (bought from the cafeteria or from time to time made by me). In the weekend, it looks better...because I have more time. Then my breakfast is more consistent. The last time I prepared, for example this breakfast muffins. Simple, delicious and with the WOW factor.
Rocket salad with apple and blue cheese
Sunday, June 8, 2014
Actually, I wanted to share with you this recipe a year ago. But I was not satisfied with the photos I have taken at that time and so this recipe ended in my "to re-cook because of the bad photos" Folder. Yes , you read it correctly...I have such a folder. As I looked at these folders, I discovered this salad...and promptly decided to prepare it. And because I like the photos the recipe made it on the blog.
